TRANSPARENT INTERSECTIONS

This piece was created to test the boundaries of welding and its effects on materials; Rebar and Expanded Sheet Metal were used in this case.

MÖBIUS ENCLOSURE

The material and color choices of silver aluminum sheet and white matte vinyl act to emphasize the finite nature of the materials used to fabricate the infinite idea of the "möbius strip". These manipulated planes become two unique volumes with the addition of two different gauges of hardware cloth as a means of enclosure, ultimately intersecting to create a third volume.

The speed of modern-day lifestyles has made it necessary to eat “on the go”. The idea of a “one-time-use” container for food has become a fixture in society. What does it mean for something to be disposable when in the case of Styrofoam, its post-consumer life is longer than its use? This bronze casting of a Styrofoam to-go container serves to demonstrate the permanence of so-called disposable things.
