DESIGN STUDIO
PLAY SPACE
This multi-part project exemplifies observation, discovery, performance, and interaction. From analyzing the action and forces of a yoyo to creating an exhibition space for the apparatus inspired by it.

PATENT STUDY
The study of an auto return yoyo patent acted as the jumping off point for the analysis of a human's interaction with toys and play in general.

APPARATUS
The idea for the exhibited apparatus was drawn from the diagrammatic analysis of both the the form and function of a yoyo's path. The spaces it takes, and patterns and images that are created when the yoyo's path is captured and translated into a copper portioned "top" of sorts. When the copper "top" is activation the action and discovery creates a new play experience.

GALLERY SPACE

Set in Downtown Geneva, "Play Space" is a gallery that houses, reacts to and fosters the experience of visitors with the copper apparatus.
